LOCKHART, Texas (KXAN) — Two students are facing terroristic threat charges after Lockhart police say they posted a photo of a toy gun from the popular video game ‘Fortnite’ on social media.

Around 7:45 a.m. a Lockhart Junior High School student told administrators about another student’s photo on social media with an image of that boy holding the toy. On the image were the words “Don’t come to school tomorrow,” Lockhart police said.

LJHS school resource officers talked to two boys and their parents. Both underage boys were taken into custody and face misdemeanor charges.

“We would like to stress that any threat made at any time is taken seriously,” Lockhart police said.
