Bank robbery suspect runs from north Austin Wells Fargo without money


AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect in a north Austin attempted bank robbery.

The bank, located at 11212 North Interstate 35, which is near Braker Lane, was the scene of the attempt after 1 p.m. on Tuesday. The robber gave a demand note to the teller but wasn’t able to steal any money.

Police say the suspect is described as black man in his 40s, approximately 5-foot-7, with a short goatee and medium build. He was last seen running south on Middle Fiskville Road wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, purple knit cap, black sweatpants, gray/blue tennis shoes and silver framed glasses.

The same bank was robbed on Wednesday, Dec. 6. The suspect in December’s robbery was described as a white man between 40-50 years old.
