APD asks for help locating potential witness to Family Dollar robbery

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are asking for help solving a robbery in northeast Austin.

While officers are sharing surveillance photos, it’s not the suspect they’re looking for right now.

Detectives have been working the aggravated robbery case since then, but they think the key to solving it might be finding a witness they know was in the store.

The Family Dollar at 7517 Cameron Rd. — just south of US 183 — was robbed on June 28 around 10 p.m.

They believe the man in the photos may have seen the robber and could provide them with more information.

The potential witness is a white man, described as being about 6-feet tall, 230 pounds and possibly in his 30s.

If you have any information about this robbery or the man in those pictures, you’re asked to call the APD Robbery Tip Line at 512-974-5092 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
