AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department identified an employee of a used car dealership in northwest Austin who died during a shooting Friday.

Jerry Paul Lee, 61, worked at the used car dealership at 11320 Ranch Road 2222, which is close to the intersection of RM 620.

APD said a shots fired/robbery call came in at 5:06 p.m. for that area. Officers found Lee, who had died, and another man who had been shot. The other man, who is believed to be one of the suspects, was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police said another person who was at the dealership fired shots back at the suspects and hit one of them.

Austin police said persons of interest have been detained.

“The circumstances surrounding the shootings are under investigation. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect,” APD wrote in a release.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene units responded and expected to work throughout the night to understand the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
