AUSTIN (KXAN) – A major fundraiser Saturday night looks to help raise money and awareness to help Latinas graduate high school and go to college.

The non-profit group “Con Mi Madre”, or “With my Mother” kicks off the event at Brazos Hall with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

As part of the event those in the Austin community that have contributed to the organization will be honored, with our own Sally Hernandez hosting it all.

According to research from the Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department (HHSD) Hispanic teens are seven times more likely to get pregnant than whites in Travis County.
