Cedar Ridge High lockdown lifted following report of nearby shooting


ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Cedar Ridge High School was placed on lockdown following a reported shooting at a nearby apartment complex.

Round Rock police responded to the shots fired call at the Townhomes at Double Creek, located at 2500 Louis Henna Blvd., at 1:58 p.m. Officers were unable to locate a suspect or confirm that shots were actually fired. No one was injured in the incident.

A message from Principal Lynette Thomas to parents says the school, located at 2801 Gattis School Rd., was placed on lockdown at 2 p.m. as a result of a nearby police investigation. The lockdown was lifted at 2:28 p.m.

No students and staff were in imminent danger during the lockdown, the principal said, adding the lockdown has had a limited impact on the instructional day.
