Car rolls over, catches fire while exiting MoPac

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A car rolled over on a MoPac Expressway off-ramp Friday evening and burst into flames. Two men were taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with non-life threatening injuries.

The emergency call came in at 7:25 p.m. police say. The car hit a city of Austin wastewater utility shed as it was taking the southbound Westover Road off-ramp.

The Austin Fire Department says the driver was weaving in and out of traffic and lost control.

The southbound Westover exit from MoPac is currently closed.
