Capital Metro thanks riders for 30 years of loyalty

News

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin’s transit system is turning 30 this year, and it’s celebration station! The agency wants riders to feel the fun, so Capital Metro is hosting several rider appreciation events around town on Wednesday. Employees will be greeting riders with music, refreshments and some eco-friendly products — timely, too, for Earth Day.

They will be at the Metro Rapid Station on the University of Texas’ West Mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Workers will also be at the Downtown MetroRail Station in time for evening rush hour starting at 3 p.m.
