WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Lanes on Interstate 35 will be closed in Williamson County starting at 8 p.m. Monday as crews install fall protection safety cables and inspect the concrete beams supporting the new southbound to northbound turnaround bridge over IH 35.

Two northbound lanes will be closed from Westinghouse Road to State Highway 29 in Georgetown. Going southbound, crews will close two lanes between Williams Drive and SE Inner Loop Road. The closure is expected to last until 5 a.m. Tuesday. If necessary, the lanes will also close Tuesday at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday

Exit and entrance ramps located within the limits of the lane closures will also be closed. Drivers using Leander Road will be forced to take the I-35 frontage road. Electronic message boards will be posted in the area to notify motorists of the closure, and law enforcement will also be on hand to monitor traffic.
