AUSTIN (KXAN) — Four adults and two children are displaced from their North Austin home after firefighters say a boy playing with a lighter caused a fire on Saturday morning.
According to the Austin Fire Department they received a call of a structure fire at the 100 block of E. Grady Drive just after 10:30 a.m.
When firefighters arrived on scene they discovered heavy smoke coming from the home. Firefighters were then able to find and put out a small fire.
The cause of the fire was determined to be a boy playing with a lighter. The fire caused an estimated $75,000 worth of damage.
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
