Those who live in the Briar Creek area of Manor will have to boil their water for the foreseeable future.
The area does not use the city of Manor for water service; instead Aqua America is responsible. Manor says the company it buys water from had a mechanical problem which shut down the water.
Aqua America issued the boil water notice as a precaution once the water is restored. It says people should either use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food. With the boiling method, water should be boiled for two minutes and then cooled before using.
The company will let customers know when it is safe to use the water without boiling it.
