ATLANTA, GA (KXAN) — Super Bowl 53 is underway from Atlanta. The New England Patriots are considered short favorites (-2.5) to win over the Los Angeles Rams.

COIN TOSS: The Rams win the toss with tails. LA deferred to the second half. The Patriots get the ball first.

1ST POSSESSION: New England’s promising, first drive was halted on Tom Brady’s first pass. Cory Littleton intercepted Brady’s attempted pass.

COMMERCIAL BREAK THOUGHTS: M&M’s has a candy bar

SCORELESS FIRST QUARTER: The Patriots squandered two scoring opportunities with Brady’s interception and a Stephen Gostkowski missed field goal from 46 yards away.

LONE SCORE OF FIRST HALF: Stephen Gostkowski connected on a 42-yard field goal for a 3-0 Patriots lead early in the second quarter.

ANALYSIS: Both teams went through an extended feeling out process. The lowest scoring Super Bowl in history is Super Bowl III when the New York Jets beat the Baltimore Colts 16-7. At halftime, Patriots lead the Rams 3-0.

TIED UP IN 3RD QUARTER: Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein puts LA on the board with a 53-yard field goal. All tied up 3-3 going to the fourth quarter.

FIRST TOUCHDOWN/PATRIOTS LEAD 10-3: Tom Brady connects with Rob Gronkowski on a 29-yard catch for the first red zone appearance of the game. From there, Sony Michel ran it in for a two-yard touchdown and a Patriots 10-3 lead.
