AUSTIN (KXAN) — Soccer fans have been waiting four years for what will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, which kicks off Thursday, June 14. While you can’t root for America (since they didn’t qualify), there are plenty of other amazing teams you can throw your support behind.
While we can’t offer free tickets to games in Russia, we can provide the next best thing. Here’s a list of the best local spots to post up and watch the international football tournament.
This quirky hostel will be screening every game of 2018 FIFA World Cup. There will be free game watch parties and drink specials including Revolution White Russians, Irish Coffees and deals on select international beers. They are also offering discounted rooms with code “Kick15” for those dedicated fans trying to watch the early morning games. If you prefer playing to watching, Native is also putting on a 1v1 soccer tournament.
Both restaurants will be featuring $3 Whitestone Konverter Kolsh Pints and $12 pitchers during game times. They will be opening for all early games and will have a breakfast menu for any day open before 11 a.m.
This north Austin hangout will be open for every game of the World Cup, including those early morning matches. They have around 20 televisions, including three large projection screens so you won’t miss a thing. They will be serving $3 wells, $3 Ziegenbock pints and $4 Modelo pints.
This modern watering hole will be screening the World Cup during normal business hours. They are rolling out our new drink menu full of exciting, refreshing drinks and will be featuring bucket specials during the games.
This eatery will be screening the World Cup games, and will likely be showing repeats of early games for those fans who don’t identify as morning people.
If you’re a Mexico fan, Licha’s is the place to be. They will be open daily from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 14-28. During the final tournaments, after June 28, the eastside bungalow will open for games scheduled outside of regular business hours. They will be serving a limited menu as well as a variety of beers and margaritas.
This bar at The Domain will be open for every single World Cup Game. Their drink specials include $5 Screwdrivers, $6 Irish Coffee and $5 Micheladas.
This cafe and bar will be screening all the World Cup games, including the 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. matches. Bagel service will be provided at 8 a.m., and snacks and coffee will always be available. Beer will also be served.

The location on Burnet Road will show all the matches. For the early morning games, they will have coffee, a full bar and breakfast tacos from One Taco.
The place will show every from as well on multiple screens. They will open at 7 a.m. and even the 5 a.m. match on June 16. The brewpub will have a breakfast menu for the early risers.
The track is hosting a watch party for the World Cup Final match on Sunday, July 15. Admission is free and there will be several big screens to watch the game. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
