Austin Trail of Lights now open to the public


AUSTIN, (KXAN) — The 52nd annual Austin Trail of Lights grand opening ceremony kicked off Saturday evening and the trail will now be open to the public until Dec. 23.

People of all ages will be able to enjoy the holiday atmosphere of lights, music and hot chocolate for the next two weeks at Zilker Park. The first week of the trail will be free while select nights require admission. Additionally, you can buy zip passes to skip the line.

If you’re planning on driving to the Trail of Lights, these are the road closures you should be aware of:

  • All lanes on Barton Springs Road are closed until 11 p.m.
  • From Dec. 12 through Dec. 15 all of the outer lanes of Barton Springs Road will be closed from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
