Austin man runs marathon to raise thousands for charity

News

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austinite is running for charity this Sunday, hoping to raise thousands of dollars for those in need.

Runner Steve Chase joined us in the KXAN studio to discuss his journey 26.2 miles to the finish line.

While this isn’t his first marathon, Chase says he meticulously planned for each minute it takes him to run a mile. Starting in last place, Chase receives a $1 donation from Conley Sports for every runner he passes.

The charity Chase is running for is Family Eldercare. Since 1992 their mission has been to ensure that older adults receive the care they need to remain independent and living in the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible.

If you would like to make a donation to Family Eldercare in support of Chase you can do so on the Austin Marathon website.
