Austin Animal Center at capacity after storms

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Animal Center is in need of the public’s help after taking in more than 300 animals in seven days.

The center says they currently have 356 dogs and 113 cats that are either missing their owners or are ready for adoption. The shelter urges any pet owners that have recently lost their pets to check at the center.

Anyone with room in their home is also asked to foster medium to large sized dogs for a minimum of two weeks to help with their space issues.

The Austin Animal Center is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 7201 Levander Loop. For more information, you can visit their website or Facebook page.
