Arrest made after fire set on MetroRail tracks


AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police made an arrest this morning after a person set a small fire on the tracks of the Austin MetroRail.

The MetroRail was delayed up to 45 minutes after police received reports of smoke spotted near the tracks.

Around 7:37 a.m. there was a MetroRail alert while APD investigated claims smoke was seen between 38th Street and I-35.

MetroRail passengers were put on buses and transported between the Highland and Martin Luther King Boulevard MetroRail stations.
