ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) — The Abilene Fire Department lined an overpass above Interstate 20 Monday afternoon as the body of fallen Weatherford firefighter Richard “Andy” Loller, Jr. passed through.

Loller, 42, was killed in the line of duty while fighting grass fires in the Fort Davis Mountains in West Texas Sunday. The Weatherford Fire Marshal told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Loller suffered a medical emergency.

His body was transported from a hospital in Odessa to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office Monday, with supporters lining different parts of the route from Big Spring all the way to Weatherford.

The city of Weatherford said Loller served 13 years as a firefighter with two different fire departments. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
