AUSTIN (KXAN) – One of Austin’s most famous barbecue restaurants has received another major award. Aaron Franklin was named the best chef in the southwest on Monday at the James Beard Awards.

The award is one of the most prestigious awards for restaurants in the country.

At the ceremony the owner of Franklin Barbecue said the award is “pretty huge for barbecue in general.”
