AUSTIN (KXAN) — Get your holiday shopping done early in one spot while making a difference in the local community.

Leslie Moore with “A Christmas Affair” joined us in the KXAN studio to talk about this year’s extravaganza.

The event benefits the Junior League of Austin. The organization works to alleviate hunger for 1,500 young students through the Food in Tummies (FIT) program. They also help kids stay warm through the distribution of 35,000 Coats for Kids.

The Junior League supports 32 nonprofits across the city by providing volunteers and funding. A total of 130,000 hours of volunteer time will be provided this year.

This is the 41st year for the Christmas Affair festival. The theme this year will be reminiscent of the mid-century modern era with silver tinsel, cocktail parties and a holiday market with a Mid-Century modern theme.

Also new this year is the e-ticket option. You can buy your tickets here

Children’s events this year will feature a visit from Frozen’s Ana and Elsa, musician Joe McDermott, and Austin’s own Stacy Gray. There will also be children’s crafts, the Tiny Tails to You petting zoo and of course Santa. Photos with Santa are available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

A Christmas Affair kicks off on Thursday through Sunday at the Palmer Events Center.
