AUSTIN (KXAN) — The school bell rang virtually Tuesday to start the new year for students who attend Austin, Hays and San Marcos school districts.
Classes for Hays students will be held online for at least the first three weeks, while Austin and San Marcos are having remote learning for at least four weeks.
In a video lasting less than five minutes, Amanda Dugan and Will DuPree discuss that story as well as these others in the latest KXAN Live News Notes:
- Austin ISD will keep sending out buses to help provide free internet access to students who live in different neighborhoods.
- Some students at Leander ISD can return to classes in person again, but one elementary school reported a COVID-19 case.
- Texas health leaders are preparing to distribute a COVID-19 vaccine even though a viable one is not officially available yet.
