After too many margaritas, woman buys signed Broncos ball at auction

Must See Video

Julie Okulski from Denver isn’t exactly a Broncos fan. But that didn’t stop her from bidding hundreds of dollars for a football signed by the players of the 2017 season, who ended with a record of 5-11.

She had been at a live auction for a Denver elementary school with a friend when the ball caught her eye. She decided, after having a few drinks, that she had to make it hers — $675 later, it was.

“Ohh no. My husband is going to kill me,” Okulski said, recalling her reaction after the deed was done. She also bid on a pet portrait and a vacation — bringing her total spending for the night to $890.

While she’s enjoyed having the football so far (and telling the story that comes with it) she thinks she should find it a new home. She posted on Nextdoor, under the heading “Accidentally Acquired Authentic Broncos Football For Sale!” If that doesn’t work, she plans to donate it to another auction.

As for the lesson she took away from the experience?

“Just don’t drink before a live auction,” Okulski said. “I think that’s the moral of the story.”
