$2,000 tip left behind on a diner tab in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KXAN) — If you thought your 20 percent tip on a dining tab was generous, one person in Arizona has you beat.

KPNX reports the staff at the 5 & Diner in Scottsdale received a $2,000 tip on a $17 bill. The staff dubbed the diner guest as their “secret Santa” who came in to eat breakfast Saturday morning.

The “secret Santa” also left a note on the receipt asking staff members to “Please split with the whole staff. Merry Christmas!” The money will go to nine employees.
