Sam Stark joined KXAN as a digital reporter in September 2022 after completing an internship with the Investigations Team at KXAN and finishing his master’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. He has settled in Austin for now but has lived all over the world. Sam grew up in San Diego, lived in San Francisco while getting his bachelor’s degree in psychology and worked in clinical neuroscience research in Sydney, Australia.
Sam is familiar with issues affecting Austinites through his graduate school coursework at UT and previous reporting for the Austin Monitor. During his KXAN internship, he was one of the few interns to ever have his work featured on-air.
When he is not reporting, you might find him watching live music, running around lady bird lake, or attempting to take his cat, Chad, out for walks.
