Mayra Monroy joined the KXAN digital team as a digital executive producer in August 2021. Prior to moving to Austin, Mayra also worked as a part of an award-winning digital team in Milwaukee and covered national events such as the Molson Coors shooting, unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin following the shooting of Jacob Blake, the Milwaukee Bucks winning the NBA Championship and more.
