John Engel joined KXAN in April of 2020 as a political reporter, focusing on both state and local politics. He recently moved to Austin with his wife, Malia, and is looking forward to taking advantage of everything Central Texas has to offer.
Before joining KXAN, John covered politics and general news for WCYB-TV in Johnson City, Tenn. His broadcast career began in radio and podcasts with stints at ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and WOKV-AM in Jacksonville, Florida.
