Morning Anchor from 2015-2019

John Dabkovich anchors the KXAN morning news alongside Sally Hernandez. John is an Emmy-winning journalist whose nearly 20 year career has included everything from a trip to the Super Bowl to the devastating California wildfires of 2008. John comes to KXAN from the Las Vegas Fox affiliate where he co-anchored the market’s dominant morning show.

John was born and raised in Southern California (but proudly calls himself a Texan) and graduated from Fresno State in 2000 with a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism. He lives in Austin with his wife and their daughter, along with their Jack Russell terrier, Kali. You can see John weekday mornings starting at 4:30AM on KXAN News Today.

John left KXAN in November 2019
