Jaclyn Ramkissoon

Jaclyn Ramkissoon first joined the KXAN family as a digital content producer in July 2020, then was promoted to social media producer in December 2022. She focuses on curating KXAN’s social media platforms and interacting with that audience.

Before coming to Central Texas, Jaclyn spent two years in Central Georgia as a digital content producer in Macon. There, she helped cover several severe weather events, including tornadoes and Hurricane Michael. Jaclyn also became an expert in the missing persons case of Tara Grinstead, a teacher who disappeared from her south Georgia home in 2005. Jaclyn got to liveblog a nearly week-long trial for a codefendant in the case from the courtroom.

Jaclyn got her start at Mercer University’s Center for Collaborative Journalism, also in Macon, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in 2018. She wrote for the student newspaper, The Cluster, and interned with Georgia Public Broadcasting Macon.

Jaclyn is excited to get to know the Austin area (especially the food) and is looking forward to serving the people of Central Texas. You can email story ideas or feedback to Jaclyn at jaclyn.ramkissoon@kxan.com.
