Grace Reader comes to KXAN from KOB 4 News in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While there, she was a point person for breaking down information on COVID-19-related restrictions and their impact on local businesses.
Prior to working in the Land of Enchantment, Grace worked on the Western Slope of Colorado at KKCO 11 News. Grace won two Colorado Broadcasters Association awards during her time there, one for breaking news and the other for publicizing a family’s fight to save a one-year-old girl with a rare medical condition. Because of that report, and several that followed, the little girl’s insurance company overturned their denial of the drug she needed, and Maisie is still alive.
In college, Grace worked at the Denver Police Department and at Entrepreneur magazine in New York City.
Grace was born in Charleston, South Carolina but spent most of her childhood in Colorado. She graduated from Colorado State University. Go Rams!
She’s excited to be in Central Texas and to explore the area with her black lab, Murphy. If you would like to share a story idea with Grace, like her Facebook page, Twitter or email her at grace.reader@kxan.com.
