Daniel Marin is an Emmy Award-winning Texas journalist, happy to be back in Austin anchoring 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts on KXAN and the CW Austin.

Originally from El Paso, Daniel has worked in the news industry for more than 15 years and covered topics ranging from local politics and corruption to border issues and the drug war in Mexico.

In his previous position, Daniel anchored hours of continuous coverage of the tragic 2019 El Paso mass shooting. His reporting has also been featured on NewsNation, CNN and MSNBC.

Daniel is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. One of his first tastes of politics came as a UT student when he served as an intern within the Texas Senate.
