Candy Rodriguez comes to KXAN from Southwest Louisiana where she worked at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles. At KPLC, she covered major flooding and Tropical Storms Cindy and Harvey. She covered the aftermath, following people on their journey to recovery, and told stories about those who make up SWLA and make a difference in the community.
Candy was born in Reedley, California, but considers herself a Texan after moving to Anahuac, Texas, with her family years ago. She graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in political science with a minor in communications. Candy was also awarded by the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association for her reporting during her time at the university.
She’s excited to call Central Texas home and is looking forward to exploring the area. If you would like to share a story idea with Candy, like her Facebook page, Twitter, or email her at candy.rodriguez@kxan.com.
