A native Texan from San Antonio, Brittany Glas is excited to be back in the Lone Star State and is thrilled to be part of the KXAN team! As a newlywed, Brittany enjoys spending her spare time with her husband, Lane. She loves visiting art museums, watching foreign films, hiking, and enjoys photography.
Brittany comes to KXAN from the company’s sister station, KSNW-TV in Wichita, Kansas. In Kansas, Brittany worked as the station’s investigative reporter and filled in on the anchor desk. She spent more than two years as a journalist in Kansas, where a portion of her work’s focus centered on the state’s Department for Children and Families. Her investigation sparked a yearlong audit into the department’s practices and policies and has pushed for change in its organization.
As a student, Brittany participated in the production of a 50-minute documentary film entitled “I Am Not My Body.” The project took her to Romania where she served as its lead reporter. It was one of many stories she believes changed her life. In 2012, the documentary was awarded at the College Television Awards. Brittany graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in April 2011. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Department of Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism.
Brittany’s journalism career began at KAUZ-TV Newschannel 6 in Wichita Falls, Texas where she produced and anchored a two-hour, award-winning weekday morning newscast. There, she also worked as a reporter and became especially interested in investigative journalism. During her time in Wichita Falls, Brittany was also recognized as a 2013 Texoma “Woman to Watch,” by the Texas Business Women organization. Brittany believes in the ability to empower people through information. She has a sincere desire to provide her audience with the stories they need to know about… it’s her passion.
