DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas (KXAN) - The man charged with murder after a Dripping Springs woman died when a fire burned her home late last year is due in court Monday.
Joseph Alan Carnahan, 56, is also charged with arson and two counts of endangering a child in the Dec. 16, 2012, fire.
When fire and police officials responded to 31305 Ranch Road 12 for a report of a structure fire, they found Misty Lynn Bedell, 23, dead inside the home.
After an investigation, the Hays County Sheriff's Office detained Carnahan, an acquaintance of Bedell , for endangering a child and first-degree arson. Information provided to authorities showed Carnahan ordered two boys to remove property from the home while it was on fire .
An autopsy performed on Jan. 9 showed Bedell's death was a homicide and that she died as a result of strangulation.
