AUSTIN (KXAN) - Several big weekend events could affect the way you get around town. Especially in parts of downtown on Saturday.
The American Heart Association is holding their annual Heart Walk from 8 a.m. to noon. Taking you over to Northwest Austin now, the annual Walk to End Alzheimers will close several neighborhood roads. It starts Saturday morning at 8 from the Austin Oaks Business Center on Executive Center Drive and goes around several neighborhood roadways. The walk ends at 11 in the morning.
Viva la Vida Festival
Now, a colorful parade honoring the day of the dead will close a few streets from East Austin over into Downtown. This is for the annual Viva la Vida festival. There's a grand procession starting at 5 on East Sixth Street -- between Chicon and Comal Streets and that will end an hour later at Sixth and Congress.
Livestrong Challenge Bike Ride
Now looking at your Sunday, Riverside Drive from South 1st Street to South Lamar will be closed from Saturday night at 11 until Sunday at 5 pm. It's a starting and finish line for people taking this year's Livestrong challenge bike ride.
Also to keep in mind for Sunday afternoon, more Downtown street closures for the annual AIDS Walk Austin is from 2 to 3 and it will close several blocks of Guadalupe, Fourth, and Congress Avenue.
