Longhorns land in Omaha for 36th College World Series

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Texas baseball team landed in Omaha on Thursday for the College World Series.

The Longhorns are making their 36th appearance in the tournament, more than any other school. Miami is the next closest with 25. They'll be looking for their seventh title in program history. Right now, UT is tied with LSU for the most championships with six. USC has 12, but its last title came in 1998.

After beating Tennessee Tech in three games in the Super Regional, Texas will open the CWS on Sunday at 1 p.m. against former conference rival Arkansas.

The Razorbacks are the five seed in the tournament and swept UT in a two-game, mid-weed series in Arkansas.
