AUSTIN (KXAN) - For the second time this season, David Ash will not be on the sidelines when the Longhorns take the field.
Ash suffered a concussion in a Week 2 loss at BYU and was not in attendance for Texas' 44-23 loss to Ole Miss in Week 3.
The junior returned to the lineup for the conference opener against Kansas State, but was pulled from the game at halftime after suffering from concussion-like symptoms. Texas (2-2, 1-0) went on to win the game 31-21.
Team officials announced Wednesday that Ash will not make the trip to Ames, Iowa for the Longhorns first conference road game on Thursday versus Iowa State (1-2, 0-0).
Texas is coming off a bye week and will likely turn to senior quarterback Case McCoy to fill in for Ash once again. Freshman Tyrone Swoopes, who has yet to see game action this season, could also see playing time.
Offensive tackle Josh Cochran will also be held out of Thursday's game. The junior has a shoulder injury and will not make the trip. Senior wideout Mike Davis is a game time decision.
Thursday's game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.
