AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police have issued an arrest warrant for Longhorn freshmandefensive back, Kenny Vaccaro, after a fight during a basketballgame.
He is accused of misdemeanor assault, which allegedly took placeduring a pick-up basketball game in Gregory Gym. The affidavitclaims Vaccaro and his team were throwing basketballs at a UTstudent after losing a game. The UT student, later identified asJonathon Fuhrman, threw a basketball back at Vaccaro and hit him inthe head.
Allegedly, Vaccaro proceeded to punch Fuhrman in the face,causing his lip to bleed.
In the affidavir, Vaccaro claims that Fuhrman "was always on thecourt trying to start a fight." Fuhrman said there are witnesses tothe fight, but they will not support his statements because theyare "scared of football players." Fuhrman did not require EMS, buthe wants to file charges against Vaccaro.
Vaccaro played two years at Brownwood High School in Brownwood,Texas before transferring to Early High School his senior year. Hisuncle played defensive back for the Washington Redskins. He has sixsolo tackles this season for the Longhorns.
