KXAN is a partner in the 2013 Texas Tribune Festival, the third annual weekend of debate, discussion and dialogue, held on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin.
This event features some of the biggest names in the world of politics and public policy, including chairs of major committees in the Texas House and Senate.
Among the Festival’s confirmed participants — more than 55 as of this writing — are a range of federal and state elected officials, public policy professionals, issue activists and advocates, leaders from academia and more. They include U.S Sen Ted Cruz, First Lady of Texas Anita Perry; Texas House Speaker Joe Straus; Former INS Commissioner Doris Meissner; Texas Education Commissioner Michael Williams; and U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro.
Friday, Sept. 27, we begin the Festival weekend with an opening keynote session at the AT&T Center, followed by a reception under the stars for all attendees. Saturday offers a full day of programming, followed by a cocktail event after the panels conclude. On Sunday, in addition to the closing panel discussion, attendees can sign up to participate in exclusive walking tours that go behind the scenes at the LBJ Presidential Library & Museum, the Texas State Cemetery, the Woodward and Bernstein Watergate papers at the Harry Ransom Center and more.
If you're traveling from out of town, be sure to reserve your hotel room through our housing desk after you register, and send any questions about your registration to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope to see you at the Festival this year!
