TAYLOR, Texas (KXAN) - A shooting in Taylor on Monday night injured five people and sent authorities on a manhunt through Williamson and Bastrop counties looking for the suspects involved.
Authorities said Reyes Torres, 22, fired multiple shots in the direction of the people around 8 p.m. in the area of South Robinson Street and E. Second Street .
One man was taken to a Round Rock hospital for an injury to his right arm. Four other adult survivors were hit by pellets and fragments but all were treated and released at the scene.
After firing the shots, Torres allegedly jumped into a car and sped off from the area.
A few hours after the shooting, Taylor police stopped the suspect car in the 600 block of North Main and took passenger Israel Galvan, 18, and driver Fernando Torres, 19, into custody on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and outstanding warrants.
Reyes Torres was not in the car.
With the help of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, authorities were able to nab Reyes Torres without any trouble in Elgin on Tuesday afternoon. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
