AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) - A man is dead after driving off a highway and crashing into a tree.
It happened around 2:00 Sunday morning in the 50th block of Interstate-35 near Lady Bird Lake.
Police say a black car was traveling southbound on I-35. The car left the roadway heading onto the west-frontage road. He then crashed into a tree right in front of the Holiday Inn.
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway and frontage road were closed for several hours.
