AUSTIN (KXAN) - Wobeon Fest, the new world music, family-friendly festival in Austin, is taking place this weekend at the Emma Barrientos Mexican-American Cultural Center.
The festival features an eclectic all-star line-up. Acts include headliners Angelique Kidjo and Collie Buddz; Austin favorites Bomba Estereo; and the buzz worthy Fatoumata Diawara --recently featured in the NY Times-- and Red Baraat are also attending. There's also a very strong Latin representation.
A global bazaar will be taking place featuring local and international vendors, artists, and cultural organizations
The event, which continues through Sunday, is considered family friendly. The event will benefit the United Way of Central Texas.
