AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Austin Parks and Recreation Department reopened all park trails at 4 p.m. Thursday after conditions along the pathways improved following recent storms.
The trails had been closed this week after heavy rains littered the paths with debris, making them unsafe. The rushing waters also carved deep ruts into sections of the trails .
After evaluating the trails, the department determined conditions had improved enough for the pathways to be reopened.
Parks and Recreation officials still ask trail users to use caution in some areas " where warning barriers and caution tape have been placed to warn the public about trail hazards."
The department said they will continue working to restore all sections the trail system to normal conditions.
