AUSTIN (KXAN) - Three days of sports focused events and panelists will be added to the lineup for the 2014 South by Southwest Interactive and Film lineup.
Peter Gruber, chairman of Mandalay Sports Media and part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers will serve as the opening featured speaker of the event.
“The world of sports truly hits the sweet spot of SXSW," said Rebecca Feferman, head of film media relations and programmer. “We can’t wait to connect the sports world with our passionate audience of early adopters, culture nuts, digital creatives, and so much more.”
Other confirmed guests include Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury and USA TODAY writer George Schroeder.
More programming announcements will be revealed in the coming weeks.
SXsports runs Friday, March 7 through Sunday, March 9 as part of the 2014 SXSW Interactive and SXSW Film events.
Most conference programming will occur at the Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin, with some sessions taking place at the Austin Convention Center. Film screenings will be announced in February 2014.
