AUSTIN (KXAN) - Rick Herre said his mind gets confused from a stroke he suffered three years ago, but he is not confused about the thousands of dollars he loaned LuAnn Wyatt.
He's still waiting to collect, so he called the KXAN Investigates tipline for help.
"I thought they were my friends, but somehow, they smiled, laughed at me. But they ripped me off," Herre said.
Attorney Bethann Eccles obtained a court judgment for Wyatt to pay Herre $42,000, but Eccles no longer represents him. And Herre is still waiting to collect.

"Someone has to do it for me," Herre said. "Because of my stroke I don't have the right words. I have it right in my mind, but it won't come out of my mouth. I don't have enough money for a lawyer."
Herre said he lives off his Social Security.
KXAN approached LuAnn Wyatt about the debt and asked if she would pay the judgment. She replied, "Yes, but I cannot talk to you. My lawyer asked me not to speak."
Wyatt would not reveal the name of her lawyer but said he would call KXAN. To date, he has not.
Meantime, Herre is hoping to find someone with legal expertise to help him collect his money.
