AUSTIN (KXAN) - A crash after a short police chase sent a 21-year-old driver and 19-year-old passenger to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center early Monday morning.
An Austin Police watch commander said, just after 1 a.m., a patrol officer saw a vehicle driving recklessly on Interstate 35 in North Austin.
The driver exited at Tech Ridge as the officer followed, then hit a utility pole.
The watch commander said the driver suffered an ankle injury, and the passenger also had a minor injury. Police suspect the driver was intoxicated.
City work crews responded to repair the utility pole.
