AUSTIN (KXAN) - The occupant of a North Austin apartment was charged with first-degree arson Monday in an early morning fire.
The suspect, 29-year-old Anthony Brown, was treated for smoke inhalation early Monday after a fire at a North Austin fourplex apartment, Austin fire officials said. He was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge for evaluation.
It happened on the 1700 block of Hearthstone Drive southeast of the Burnet Road-U.S. Highway 183 intersection.
The fire was out by 8 a.m., according to fire officials.
The damage was estimated at $28,000.
