PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) - The City of Pflugerville enacted Stage 3 watering restrictions Monday, limiting neighbors to watering their lawn only once a week.
The Pflugerville restrictions are triggered when the combined storage of Lakes Buchanan and Travis drops below 700,000 acre feet.
The city approved updates to its Drought Contingency Plan in June that changed the restriction stages and consequences for watering violations.
In Stage 3, neighbors and businesses are not allowed to water lawns on Saturday or Sunday. The schedule of permitted days corresponds with the address of the home.
Address ending Assigned watering day
0 or 1 Monday
2 or 3 Tuesday
4 or 5 Wednesday
6 or 7 Thursday
8 or 9 Friday
A customer will receive a yellow notice and information on the watering schedule for an initial violation. A second infraction will prompt a visit from a city staff member, and a third violation will cost customers a $100 water bill fine.
Meanwhile, water service could be cut off entirely for a fourth violation.
