AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Palmer Events Center opened its doors for the biggest garage sale of the year. With over 80 local vendors, the event named Le Garage Sale was first held fifteen years ago and has gained popularity since.
Many local stores take this chance to get rid of past season's stuff to make room for the new clothes coming in but as we all know..those summer clothes can last you through the winter in Austin.
One of the organizers, Suellen Young, joined KXAN to talk about the event and said that the big sale is also a great opportunity to discover new up and coming retailers.
But you've been warned...it can get a little chaotic.
Young: "You see everything..some people will come in in their bike shorts and a sports bra that they can try things on. A lot of the vendors are now making accommodations..some sort of a changing area."
With plenty of kids' stuff on sale, it's also a good opportunity to do some last minute back-to-school shopping before the new year kicks off on Monday.

Sunday 12 am - 5 pm
