AUSTIN (KXAN) - So you want to make sure your little one grows up to be a true-blue Texan, but you're not sure how to go about it.
Well, partner, the upcoming edition of Texas Monthly might provide the help you're looking for.
But for now, it's the cover photo of Texas tykes in cowboy boots that's getting all the attention in advance of the September issue hitting the newsstands Wednesday.
"With the cover, we wanted to zero in on that age, right, about 2 to 3 years old," Texas Monthly's Jake Silverstien said on KXAN News Today. "Those kids are when cuteness is at its peak. And I say that as the father of a 2-and-a-half-year-old, and put them in boots and diapers and have fun with that."
The package contains 10 feature stories covering Texas child-rearing from birth to late teens. And on the magazine's website, there's a video of the behind-the-scenes action surrounding the boots 'n' diapers photo shoot.
