AUSTIN (KXAN) - An Austin firefighter is getting a lot of support from friends, co-workers, and complete strangers.
Colin Camp is still in a coma after he was hit by a pickup truck while riding his bike in south Austin.
On June 18th camp was off duty riding his bike along Manchaca road when an impaired driver slammed into him.
Saturday, a fundraiser was held at the Moontower Saloon. The event featured a silent auction and was put on by local biking organizations like Please Be Kind To Cyclists.
The CASA group (Community Awareness of South Austin) also helped to organize support for the fundraiser.
Camp's fellow firefighters have even started an online donation site banding around their brother.
"Colin was out there everyday of his life helping people in the same situation he ended up in and that's why we are asking for people to come help him," said Aaron Wernsman with AFD.
